(More customer reviews)I thought this product worked excellent if used properly. It saved a bunch of time in taping and the results were superior to taping which can often result in bleed-through. This device left clean sharp lines and I would not hesitate to recommend this product. However, like any tool it needs to be used properly for the best results, so here are some tips:
Make sure to hold the pad in the paint for a count of 5 seconds, so that it absorbs enough paint. Then using the side of the paint tray scrape off the paint from the front of the pad to stop it from bleeding past the black edgers.
Make sure that the black edgers and the front of the tool are clean each time you use it. It was handy to keep a wet rag nearby to quickly wipe them off after every time you refill the pad with paint.
Don't be afraid to go back and forth on the line of paint you laid down. It helps even it out and you get better coverage.
Have a roller handy to smooth out the line you laid down. This is standard practice even when edging with a brush so it is not out of the ordinary. It will also take care of the excess bead of paint that may be left at the back of the edger.
Don't press too hard! It would be better to go back and forth if you are not getting sufficient coverage than pressing too hard and squeezing the paint off of the pad and out the sides. I think this may be one of the main reasons that people are having difficulty with this tool.
Hope this helps!
