(More customer reviews)I'm using this on my boat like advertised but am baffled by the small size of clamp included for the stern pulpit on my boat. Almost all boats have 1 inch dia. pulpits and stantions. This is 3/4" or less. It's useless. However I did use the other with limited success.

Husqvarna 128LD 28cc 2-Stroke Gas-Powered Straight-Shaft String Trimmer with Detachable Shaft Review

(More customer reviews)I only need to show you this part number. 545001001 . Google it like this {545001001 cylinder}. this comes up as a poulan pro trimmer cylinder. I got this part number off of husqvarna's parts break down list for husqvarna 128l/LDX trimmer. The 128l/LDX trimmer is a 100.00 poulan pro trimmer wrapped in orange plastic instead of yellow. I didnt know husqvarna stickers cost over 100.00. This trimmer has one piston ring not two like a real husqvarna. It does however have the chrome cylinder lining. this would be poulans {Durachrome} cylinder.
If you want a husqvarna thats a true husqvarna get the 223l. Thats really the lower end husqvarna {for now}.
the 128l/ldx trimmers do not have the black plate stating husqvarna made in sweden like true husqvarnas have. In fact I could not locate an origin sticker/plate anywhere on it? My search told me its built in U.S.A..
That tells me the poulan/weedeater plant here owned by husqvarna. If you want this trimmer buy it with the poulan name and save 100.00.
The poulan PP133 trimmer appears to look just like this model. {minor plastic changes}. the first several numbers on the cylinder match . the last few numbers are different. But the poulan pro model cylinder is sold as a kit form. Cylinder and ring set combined. Thus the number change. The pp133 is rated at 33cc not 28cc like this model. Any small engine mechanic will tell you not to look at cc ratings. look at hp. rating. Big box stores get too advertise high cc ratings on small engines for sales tactics.
I'm not saying this is a bad trimmer. I bet its a real good home owner trimmer like advertised. I just think Husqvarna should put the correct name were it belongs and not mislead people. If I wasnt one of those people that researched everthing to death I'd not discovered this. I recomend researching anything over 100.00. Today it saved me 100.00 dollars. Hope I saved you money too.

It operates a single on/off cycle during a 24-hour period, which is adjustable, requires 230 volts for operation and switches both poles (hot wires). My original timer finally expired after more than 30 years of use, so I bought this replacement from Amazon, which was less expensive than buying one from my local electrical distributor.
Fortunately, this new mechanism fits and snaps right into the old Intermatic housing. For those who just need to replace the functional parts, this greatly simplifies the installation. Amazon's price for the entire timer assembly including the metal housing was less than others charge for just the mechanism itsef.

So much that, with a few left over useable pieces I targeted the other closet! But Target and other retailers in my area no longer carried it (why it was on clearance in the first place). Amazon to the rescue, and with Free Super Saver Shipping, even better! It shipped reasonably quickly (never be in too much of a hurry or else it can never ship fast enough for you), arrived in good shape, was even better priced than the clearanced item, and worked further wonders in two more closets. This system is custom configurable to however you want and need it. Have it your way (and it can't talk back and disagree with you). That makes it fun to install.

(More customer reviews)I have used this trimmer for two full seasons for typical yard work. It has plenty of power for my purpose, but I'm not convinced it has "plenty of brawn to power through the most ragged, overgrown grass," as the description states. I cannot comment on the brush cutter as I have not used it.
The trimmer is relatively light and easy to handle. The strap provided with the trimmer is of little value. It is thin and awkward to use. Although I did use it for a short time, the clip which attaches to the trimmer bent and so I just disposed of it. The trimmer is light enough that a strap isn't necessary for routine yard work.
The "EZ-Start" system works very well: it starts very easily, usually with just a pull or two of the cord. The trimmer is loud, but that is expected and is not a personal concern.
Although the string became bound on the reel provided with the purchase, I had the problem only once and the bumphead otherwise works reasonably well.
I considered three stars for this review given problems with the pull cord. The description states that only a "slow, smooth, easy pull" is necessary to start the trimmer. Perhaps the problem with my trimmer's cord is an anomaly, but it is anything but smooth. The cord often sticks during the pull. Pulling through it is usually not a problem, although the cord recently became bound and had to be serviced. I decided on four stars since, despite the awkward pull of the cord, it still starts on the first or second pull.
The trimmer is now in its third season and, other than the cord issue, it is mechanically sound and still starts easily. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase and recommend it for anyone needing a trimmer for routine yard work.

The only drawback is that if you leave them on all the time you'll have to change the batteries after about a year of use. Other than that they're totally maintenance free and look great even after being out in the Florida sun for nearly two years.

Immediately found it to be unreliable due to extreme sensitivity (understatement) to lightning which knocked unit off line (blinking display)3 or 4 times. All wiring properly/securely installed. After most recent incident, unit will turn lights on but WILL NOT turn them off. Removing/replacing unit today, hopefully with non-digital (elec motor driven)type.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this item in an attempt to prevent further ice dam issues I was having with the heavy Wisconsin snow of the winter of '07-'08. This product was in the range of the best price I was able to find. It worked very well to rake pretty much all of my back roof (~9' high at gutter) and the extensions were enough to get the important first 5' of my front roof (~15' high at gutter). It also has the nice rollers to protect shingles and is constructed of aluminum making it light in weight and rust free. If you have ice dam problems or a persistent large amount of snow on your roof a roof rake is essential. Please note that it does not include tarp thing to pull snow away from foundation, if that's important to you.

Mace 80115 MACE Big Jammer Door Brace Review

(More customer reviews)It arrived today and is going back to Amazon for a refund tomorrow. It looks secure when you put it in place, and feels secure when you test it by pulling inward on the door handle, but test it by going outside pushing on the door and you will be shocked at how easy it is to defeat. The rubber ears on the doorknob end are too flexible and bend out of the way (to the side and down) when you push on the door allowing the door to be very easily opened. The entire top rubber assembly also flexed slightly to the side on the metal pole as it was defeated. It's secured to the end of the metal pole about as well one of those rubber erasers that slip on to the end of your pencil. What's worse is that because the thickest parts of the pole, the top ears and the bottom foot, are made of soft rubber they were silent and made no racket as I pushed on the door. Furthermore since no metal parts hit the floor when it fell to the ground it landed very quietly. The rubber ears are what impacted the floor as it fell to the floor after being defeated, the rubber foot was already on the ground as it fell. I got in the door silently in less than 5 seconds. The tap from a lock bump would be the loudest thing you would hear. Get a puppy from the pound and a 12 gauge instead and sleep well, it's well worth the $400 total initial investment + dog food. I do weigh 240#, but I didn't have to push hard at all to get in. A false sense of security thinking that you would hear some serious racket as this thing got defeated is worse than not having it at all. What I was using before I tried this, and what I will go back to using, was a chair with the legs sitting inside some rubber soled tennis shoes to keep the chair legs from slipping on the floor. Yes I could break the chair with a lot more effort than it took to defeat the MACE Big Jammer, but at least it would make some serious racket as it splintered, and with the door/chair contact being hard material it would also make some noise as I moved the door back and forth trying to get in.

None the less, this product does a pretty good job at cutting and extending to lengths that reach most of the limbs of a reasonably sized tree found in yards of most residences.
There were two things that stood out as far as dealing with this item. The minor of these is that the saw blade that is attached to the working end of this pole seems a bit too flexible. Would have been nice if it was made of sturdier metal. It was good however once you get a start in the cutting of the tree limb! Nice and sharp!
The second, more troublesome aspect, was that the screw-down, that keeps the pole from extending (more than your desired length) would sometimes allow the pole to slip through during the cutting of a limb. Hopefully, with use, this will eventually no longer occur.
Other than that, the foam grip area on the lower portion of the pole makes for a really great grip when in use.
And as far as the pruning blade goes; it was very easy to trim small branches!
While purchasing this item I saw others that had plastic/nylon parts. This one has metal (where the saw and prunining mechanism are attached).
Overall, I would say this is a good product to take care of most of your tree branch cutting needs.

(More customer reviews)I have used all three of these. I first bought the Elfa (Container Store) for one bedroom. It was extremely expensive. Spent 5 times more than the others for something very simple. Everything is cut for you once you have the measurements. It is very sturdy and very well made, of course. It is probably over kill for a closet organizer. They have a lot of nice accessories for it and can be dressed up to look nicer than the others. Biggest negative which really surprises me since Closetmaid and Rubbermaid doesn't have this problem is you can't slide a hanger all the way across.
My next project was using Rubbermaid. I liked the idea it was adjustable. It was very easy to install. I bought the delux 8 feet kit. One problem is you will sometimes have left over parts and in my case I also had to buy one extra part since the way I wanted it was a little different that what options you had with their kit. After installing it I found I just didn't need to change it, so the adjustability probaly was not a plus for me but some people may want to make changes after using it for awhile. Biggest negative which really isn't a negative is that it is flimsy compared to the Elfa which is like a tank. That is because it is adjustable but it is sturdy enough. I have no problems with that. Another possible negative is it only comes with 12 inch shelves for closets. If you really need something bigger you can go into their garage sections which has 16 inches shelves.
My last project was Closetmaid. I used Closetmaid for my wife's closet since she wanted 16 inch shelves and I didn't feel it needed to be adjustable. Now if you don't want to be doing your own cutting which can be a chore without the right tools then go with Rubbermaid. But I have the right tools so cutting was not a problem. I bought mine at Lowe's. If you have all your measurements you can do the cutting their. They have a bolt cutter that cuts right through it. I did all my cutting at home since I have bolt cutters and metal saws. I like Closetmaid since it was sturdier than Rubbermaid and I just buy what I need. It also has a nice selection of accessories from wire drawers to shoe organizers. What I really liked is their clothes hamper. It pulls out on a slide then pushes in after you throw your dirty clothes in.
Now the surprise is the vertical hangers for all three companies all have the same slot design. How the verticals hang on the wall is differnt but once you have the vertical hangers secured you can interchange most accessories. I can install shelf supports for any company on any one of the vertical hangers. So I used the Closetmaid clothes hamper in my Rubbermaid closet. Closetmaid shelf supports and shelves will fit on the Rubbermaid or Elfa vertical hangers and vice versa.
If money is not a concern then buy the Elfa, built like a tank will last forever and looks better than the others with the righ accessories.
Rubbermaid is the least sturdy of the three but does the job. It is very easy to put up so if your not handy around the house then buy this one. You also can easily make changes to how you want the shelves organized much more so that the other two. If you want 16 inch shelves then look at their garage organizers, the system is the same.
I like Closetmaid but it does require more work to put up since you have to do all the cuttings. It is much sturdier than Rubbermaid since it is meant to be permanent once you put it in. Shelves snap in place which took some effort and would be difficult to remove. Rubbermaid has a simple slide to lock shelves in so you can makes changes easily but then again you give up some sturdiness.
