(More customer reviews)Very good value. I have used it to pull 1/2"-thick sheets of plywood into an attic area. I'm not a professional, so I cannot speak to "heavy" usage, but it appears great for light weight (ie., homeowner) use.
The only negative is that mounting brackets do NOT have pre-drilled holes such that they can be fastened directly to a flat overhead surface. The brackets are designed to attach the hoist a horizontal pole. I don't have a pole . . . I have a wood header. So, I had to buy a drill bit to drill holes through the top of the brackets. After that, all was well, and the world began spinning again in its correct orbit.
I highly recommend the manufacturer pre-drill holes for mounting to a flat, overhead surface. But if you can work a drill (or happen to have a 2" metal pole hanging horizontally over whatever you want to hoist), I highly recommend this hoist based on value (ie, "quality/price" ratio)
