Troy-Bilt AH720R Trimmer Plus 16-Inch Dual-Action Articulating Hedge Trimmer Attachment Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I purchased this trimmer after returning a Black and Decker that turned out to be defective. After being totally disgusted with the lack of quality in trimmers under $100, I started looking around to see what else was out there. I have a Ryobi click-link gas powered string trimmer and so this unit fits right on it. I decided to go for it. This unit is all metal (as in NO PLASTIC anywhere!) and has nice carbon steel blades. It easily cuts through 1/2 inch branches and will gnaw its way through 3/4 inch branches with minimum fuss. You can't stop it. I just trimmed 3 of my 12 foot tall Japanese maple trees and it never stalled once. I have it attached to a 31cc power head. The extra reach and swivel capability means I can easily reach the top of my trees from my ladder. The trimming job on those trees used to take hours with a long handled pruner. Now I can get it done in minutes. This tool is actually comparable to the Stihl hedge trimmer that sells for a lot more money. If you have a power head to put this tool to use, you can't go wrong. Other hedge trimmers in this price range aren't near the quality of this thing, and you don't need a cord to run it. If there is anything on the down side here, it would be the weight. It's a bit heavy to manuever for me so it would be very difficult for my wife to manage. This is no little ladies tool though so keep that in mind guys.
