But is physically missing the connectors. I kept this (figured I could always use another timer) and ordered the 40 amp DPST version.

(More customer reviews)I have this set up on my well pump to keep the pump cycles down (it pumps into a gravity feed storage tank). Instructions are a little sparse, but I got it right on my first attempt, so must be reasonably clear.
Manual/off/timer switch is good. Timer wheel easy to set and I like that you can't lose the pins.
I had previously (mistakingly) bought a 59396 30-Amp Timer without noting the "SPST" notation. To be honest I'm not sure who needs a 30 AMP single pole switch. But this one (DPST) works fine.

(More customer reviews)These switches are a great way to put a night light in areas where an outlet isn't available, like a stairwell, and also for a more streamlined look than a plug-in night light. They are bright and illuminate areas very well. Probably too bright for a bedroom; although the outlet model would probably be ok there, since the installation would be below eye level. One note: these require hot, neutral and ground wire connections to be available.

(More customer reviews)I don't really know how to feel about these timers. They look great once installed, I purchased two of them for my outside lights. The first one has worked like a charm from day one with no problems whatsoever. However, the second one which I bought from the same store (Home Depot) has given me nothing but problems. It started out by randomly resetting itself, and has gotten progressively worse until now the screen is either a jumbled mess, or simply blank. The timer no longer works, even the manual override is broken. I have verified that the wiring is correct on both of these timers.
Perhaps I got the one lemon out of a otherwise solid product, I'm not really sure that I want to spend another $30 to find out.

(More customer reviews)A high tech solution to control just about any light - I installed mine to control the exterior lights in front of my house. The overall quality of the switch is excellent, and it is fairly easy to program.
I had another timer switch (different brand) before this one, but the quality was poor and it actually stopped working within 12 months of installation. The Leviton switch has no moving parts, so I expect it to last for several years.
The switch can be programmed to turn on and off several times a day, if desired. There is also a button to manually turn on/off the light being controlled.
The only possible limitation of this switch is that it cannot program on/off times for different days of the week. If you don't need this feature, then I highly recommend this switch.

(More customer reviews)Why only 4 stars? Because it didn't last over 20 years. Why not 3 stars? Because it's still available to replace the exact model that wore out. How good is it really? I'm not an electrician so I don't know.
I had this exact timer for my water heater at an old, I said old house. I have this exact one at my current house for my pool pump. The timer went out after 15-18 years service. We live in Florida and perhaps the moisture got to a metal gear inside. Who knows. I didn't like the plastic timers at the local big box home store. Two employees at the store hinted that their products weren't the same quality as what I already had.
I didn't expect this timer, which appears to have been in production for 30 or more years, to still be on the market. I wanted it because I expected it to last a long time and would fit right into place over the other one.
Convenience? Check
Longevity? Check
Handles 240V? Check
Fits the same screw holes already drilled? Check
Has all the same knockouts & conduits in the same place? Check
Don't want to figure out the wiring? Check
All the existing wires already cut to just the right length? Check
Bottom line, I took out the old one and put this in within an hour. It works perfectly and I can forget about it.

The ZIP-set feature is especially useful if you use it to control outdoor lighting - it calculates the sunset time and turns on automatically at dusk. No more manual resets throughout the year. Installation is easy and the instructions are clear. It switches compact fluorescent (CF) bulbs.
However read this VERY CAREFULLY before you purchase this switch: it needs to be connected to a NEUTRAL wire. Many 2-pole light switches only switch the hot wire of the circuit and you may not be able to find the necessary neutral wire to connect this. Look into your junction box to confirm the presence of the neutral wire if you are replacing and existing switch. If you find only 2 wires of the same color connected to and around the old switch, you probably won't be able to swap in this one (or any other CF-capable digital timer switch) without rewiring the circuit.

(More customer reviews)This switch works fine - it's quiet and it's perfect for our bathroom fan that we often would forget to turn off. The only downside is that if you use a ceramic wall plate (or probably any style of wall plate that's thicker than normal), the rotating switch might not stick out far enough. To deal with this you'll need to replace your wallplate with a GFCI-style plate (the type with one large rectangular opening), and you'll need to trim the plastic faceplate included with the switch so that it'll fit. I did this and I'm happy with the results.

(More customer reviews)My old controller burned out (my fault). I bought this as a replacement controller for my primary pool pump. After replacing the bad wiring, I installed this controller in less than an hour with just a pocket knife and driver. The instructions were clear (once I found the English version) and the pictures helped to visually inspect the setup before I powered it up. I probably spent more time programming it than installing it. It gets 5 stars for ease of installation and 5 stars for doing what I needed it to do.
As a side note, do not install this alone if you do not understand the different types of electrical supply (ie. 110, 220, single, double).

Intermatic T103 120-Volt DPST 24 Hour Mechanical Time Switch Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this mechanical timer to replace an almost identical unit installed by a previous owner of my house. I did this because the entire mechanism can be taken out of the metal box very easily. I took the new mechanism out and put it into the old box that was still attached to the wall and I did not need to disconnect the conduit running to it. This took only a minute. I then simply had to make the connections and I was back in business. If you do not know how to wire, or how to safely work with electrical wiring, this is not the product for you.
I have no idea how long the old unit was in place and I have yet to determine why it stopped working. I think that the gears came off track as the motor still runs when connected. Otherwise, I cannot make any claims as to the longevity of this unit.
I will update this review if I have any issues with this product, but for now I am very happy with the product and with Amazon for having this available and for the quick and efficient delivery.

Sent first unit back to Amazon as defective with no return problem.
Received the replacement unit and had the same problem.
Decided to try and fix the problem myself.
The "on" clip needed to be about a 1/8 of an inch lower to push the lever on. So I modified the "on" clip and it now works fine.
Manufacturer should check their tolerances.

It operates a single on/off cycle during a 24-hour period, which is adjustable, requires 230 volts for operation and switches both poles (hot wires). My original timer finally expired after more than 30 years of use, so I bought this replacement from Amazon, which was less expensive than buying one from my local electrical distributor.
Fortunately, this new mechanism fits and snaps right into the old Intermatic housing. For those who just need to replace the functional parts, this greatly simplifies the installation. Amazon's price for the entire timer assembly including the metal housing was less than others charge for just the mechanism itsef.
It was shipped promptly, arrived undamaged and at a good price.

(More customer reviews)I've actually been pretty lucky with the Interlink SS7C timer switch I was using. I had two of the Interlink SS7C timers located in the house and they both lasted quite over three years which apparently is a lot longer than most folks have had success. However, I had one completely die a few months ago and then had the second one display the typical problems with the "No Op" issue. So, time to replace it!
I researched other Interlink switches and also came across this Aube. The other flush mount Interlink switch that could be an option cannot handle CFL bulbs.
Five huge benefits to the Aube TI071/U vs the Interlink SS7C:
1) It is flush with the wall (the Interlink SS7C sticks out a good inch from the wall)
2) It is quiet turning on and off (the Interlink SS7C is very noisy due to the manual motor it has inside)
3) It is back-lit (the Interlink SS7C is not backlit and has a super small display)
4) It does not require batteries (the Interlink SS7C requires a double-A battery and as you will see in various reviews, it has connection problems and causes the switch to fail often)
5) You can have it auto program based on your latitude and longitude.
I am sure there is a 6th benefit in that it is probably a lot more reliable than the Interlink, but I can't say that currently since I've only had it for a few days.
A 7th benefit (compared to the other Interlink switches) is that this switch can handle any type of light bulb.
Well worth getting this switch and avoiding the Interlink switches.

I still love this switch. It has been very reliable -- no problems so far. I also just love the way it looks and operates. I hate ugly looking devices and this one does not disappoint.
I have it set up in "travel" mode and unlike other switches where it will just randomly turn the lights on and off _once_ during a set time period, this switch will randomly turn the lights on and off multiple times during a set time period. This way it is even harder to tell if someone is home. Just realize that if you use this mode and you are in the room during this time period, the light may turn off while you are in the room. ;-)

(More customer reviews)We purchased one of these four years ago to control our entry lights. That was the last time we touched it. The unit asks you to set the turn on - off times, and set the time and date when you install it, then you really don't have to do much else. With the auto adjust feature, it resets for daylight savings time, and one setting will automatically turn the lights on when it's getting close to dusk, then off at your preselected time - nice if you don't want to install a photocell or manually change start times throughout the year.
My only complaint is that the LCD screen is very small, particularly showing day of week, which means when you do decide to change times you'll have to really squint to see what you're doing. But fortunately, for most, this won't be a regular event.

(More customer reviews)The best home automation upgrade you can make is to install these on your bathroom fans. The timer never forgets to turn off the fan. The real energy savings is that you do not needlessly blow a bunch of heated or cooled air out of your house.
After 11 years, the buttons on my most heavily used unit started to fall off. This is because each button is held on by four extremely thin and brittle fingers. I'm a bit miffed that I have to replace the entire unit just for this. Hopefully in the past decade Leviton has corrected this weakness in the design.
Here are my recommendations for these units:
* In new construction, install deep junction boxes everywhere so that if you decide to install bulky controls like this timer, they'll fit
* Install only units that can handle "inductive load", like the LTB models. This means they can control motors and fluorescent lighting. Lighting options are changing these days, so don't limit yourself to "incandescent only".
* Install 30 minute LTB30-1LZ or 15 minute LTB15-1LZ timers for half bathrooms. That's plenty of time to evacuate a small room of noxious odors.
* Install 60 minute LTB60-1LZ timers for full baths. The extra time is needed to clear out all the moisture, and you can always choose less time.
* In the garage I use a 2 hour LTB02-1LZ timer for the lights over the cars and laundry
* For the lights over my workbench where I am engaged for longer periods of time, I use a 12 hour LTB12-1LZ timer

(More customer reviews)Purchased ST01AC for the porch light and it works great. Instructions are good, easy to install and program. Even comes with a quick program instruction sheet so you can have it working in minutes. I replaced a single pole switch with it but it can be used with a 3 way switch also. Can be set for the new DST and can even be adjusted. i.e.: I set it to come on at Dusk but I advanced the sunset time 15 minuets so it comes on 15 minuets after sunset (saves about 2 hrs. burn time a week) then turn off at a certain time rather than burn all night and turn off at sunrise, which it can also do. Overall a good switch for the money, I would buy another one and I just might for the driveway lights.
