(More customer reviews)I bought this unit to harvest fruit from our tall mango tree. At first I was a bit put off by the price. But, when I received it, I could see that I had paid for quality workmanship. This puppy is made from thick, solid steel with nicely welded joints. It's what you would expect from a quality product made here in the USA.
Getting a pole for it was rather easy. I just went to Home Depot and bought a 16 foot expandable pool cleaner pole which costed less than $20. The unit has two holes through which you can attach to whatever style of pole fits your fancy.
So far it works fabulous for harvesting those sweet mangoes in the upper reaches of my Keitt mango tree ;-). You can find those cheap little pickers at Home Depot for a bit less, but it's not worth it. This boy is king!

(More customer reviews)I have a small pick-your-own apple orchard, and by attaching these pickers to 6 ft.pcv poles most people can reach even the highest and hardest to get fruit. Children love to use them. At the end of the season I attach some of them to 12 ft. poles. The only downside is that after 3-4 years the plastic coating wears off and they can rust. I painted those that did. I have been using fruit pickers for many years.

Backsaver Long Handle Tool Attachment (10001) Review

(More customer reviews)The backsaver tool is helpful and much easier on the back but it has several limitations:
1. The tool sits up too high from handle. It becomes a little unwieldy when you want to move a shovel around and dump load you dug up.
2. The tool would be better if there was an easier and quicker way to move it up and down the handle depending on what you want to do with it.
3. Also the tool would be better if it was easier to move around the handle. When I am using a shovel, sometimes I need to turn it over when I am double digging a garden plot. If the handle could move around it would be more user friendly.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this for my sister who has several tall citrus trees that bear large fruits that yearly wasted away b/c she was unable to retrieve them. After receiving this item, she now shares her bountiful produce by the bagfuls! The Fruit Picker allows easy harvest of fruits several feet higher with just a twist, and the basket can hold a couple of items at a time. The only challenge she has come across is as she is picking fruits, on occasion there will be that one stubborn lemon or orange that refuses to come off, and she has had to result to a yanking tug-of-war. On that rare circumstance the fruit picker was not able to achieve its goal. Overall, this item has permitted us to enjoy a generous portion of my sister's crops!

(More customer reviews)This is the 3rd or fourth tree pruner I've owned, and I'd never get any other. I have previously used and wore out a gas-powered and an electric drive chain pruner. This Corona is batter than all of them.
The extra length of the pole is critical. With this pruner I can reach all the tree limbs I used to get from standing at the top of a ladder and then using a pole pruner.
The blade is incredibly sharp. It cuts straight through branches that my power pruners used to wheeze and struggle with. Using this Corona is also faster than any other pruner I've had. I think that's also a result of the sharpness.
The chain pull-mechanism (as opposed to a rope and pulley) works beautifully. I expect that's another component in why this is easier and faster to use. Once in a while, the chain loops around itself and jams, but that's rare, and is probably a result of the way I manipulate the pruner around branches.
I am a VERY heavy and high volume user of pruners. I wear them out, or they fall apart, or their motors burn out. But not this one! There's no sign of wear and tear. I recommend this tool to anyone who is serious about trimming and pruning their own trees.

(More customer reviews)I went looking for a pole saw because branches were rubbing on my roof and hitting my gutters. I found a few at a local hardware store, which the salesperson described as hard to use, then he tried to steer me toward buying either an electric or gas-powered pole-mounted chainsaw. I don't trim trees often, so I wanted to avoid the expense of and maintenance on a chainsaw. However, the manual pole saws they carried were all a brand I had never heard of, heavier than I wanted, and priced comparably with this Fiskars, so I decided to buy it from Amazon. I was pleased that this saw was significantly lighter, and that the replaceable Woodzig blade is an aggressive cutter -- it doesn't require a lot of weight on the blade, although I found a rapid jab-tug worked best to keep branches from swaying back and forth. I also debated buying the model that's just a saw, but having the pruner for smaller branches (which aren't stiff enough to saw efficiently) is well worth the extra money and weight. I haven't used this tool long enough to speak definitively about how the extension lock holds up over time, but I found it easy to use and it did not slip. This tool was much easier to use than expected, and I have no doubts that the decision to order this model rather than what the local store stocked was a good one.
I also want to make an observation based on other pole saw reviews I've read. I've read complaints about blades binding and how dangerous falling branches are, leading me to suspect that people were sawing on branches directly above them. That's not how you should use a pole saw; you should extend it so that you're standing off to the side and cut on the top of branches rather than their side. This technique results in the weight of the branch opening your cut rather than pinching the blade, and when the branch falls you aren't underneath it.

I found the following features to be especially useful:
- rotating head, allows easy cuts of branches at different angles.
- no additional rope to pull, makes for easy cutting and handling.
- saw blade is sharp and it also allows user to change the angle of the blade so that you can saw more efficiently.
Features I wish it had:
- the ability to cut more than its 1 & 1/4-inch cutting capacity.
- when using the saw blade, the FULLY extended handle flexes a bit more than I prefer.
Overall this telescopeing pole pruner is excellent.
I have been using mine regularly to prune trees for over a year and it still cuts as sharply as it did on the first day.
By the way, some reviewers mentioned that the packaging was poor and they got a damaged product, they must have ordered it early before the new packaging was incorporated. My Pruning Stik arrived in good condition, it had a thick supporting cardboard piece to ensure the long box did not bend.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought this blade as a replacement for my Corona pole pruner.
This blade was an upgrade to the original. I would say the claim that "cuts twice as fast" is definitely accurate. I wish I had bought sooner.
Arrived in a few days and was easily installed.
This item is designed to be a universal replacement blade for several different manufacturer's pruners. So the only disadvantage is on my pole pruner, the base of the blade overlaps the space for the guillotine pruner. Probably only about 1/4" though. Not the end of the world, but would be nicer if this was not the case.

I had been trying to figure out how to prune our big Rhododendron bush without ruining its shape, but no matter how I tried, I just couldn't get at the top. This stick allows selective pruning while on a ladder or from the ground. It is lightweight and comfortable to handle. Definitely well worth the price.

It has sharp, greedy teeth which is good because the sharper the blade the faster the cutting and the sooner you get to go have a beer and relax. When you get the new blade be sure not to get excited and cut too many branches from your trees while you are trying it out. Otherwise, your trees will look like my neighbor's trees which look like Q-tips. Not that there's anything wrong with Q-tips. They are great for getting nasty yellow wax out of the ear. But trees should look like trees, not Q-tips.
