Household Essentials T-2050 Steel Outdoor Clothes-Drying T-Post Assembly Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Product comes as 4 pieces with line fastening/tightening bolts. To erect the pole, 3 piece sleeve poles slide into each other and this is a flawed design. After setting the pole into the ground and attaching the top crossbar, the crossbar will rotate freely as the pole sleeves will swivel by 360 degrees. This makes line tightening awkward. To prevent pole rotation, I drilled and inserted several sheet metal screws into the poles at the sleeve.
Tightening the lines is frustrating for two reasons. First, the line tightening bolts are too short at 2 5/8". This limits your ability to tighten the lines as the bolt should be at least 6" long.
Second, the poles tend to bend or flex during the line tightening process.. Even though I set the poles into concrete footings, the design/thickness of the poles allows them to flex toward each other. In order to get the lines tight, you must tighten and re-tighten the lines several times before you realize you have gone to the expense and trouble of setting a piece of junk into concrete footings.
Finally, the product description explains that the pole should be set into the ground by only 10". Simply put, do not try this unless you are setting each pole firmly into a large mass of at least 2 60lb bags of concrete. I sank my poles 20" into the concrete footing.
I recommend purchasing a good quality one piece unit and avoid this product.
