I just received my order of 8 of these. The bulbs I received do not show the "BR 38" anywhere on the packages. I hope they are what the page here says they are. When I try them, I will see how they do -- and perhaps report back.

130 volt incandescent products work with standard 110-120 volt household systems. The advantage of 130 volt products is that they protect the incandescent filaments from power spikes (the source of most incandescent bulb failures). 130 volt bulbs are slightly less bright than 120 volt, but offer substantially longer life.

Leviton 128-I 15 Amp, 660 Watt, 250 Light Socket Adapter, Ivory Review

I bought this to add an additional bulb into a part of my basement which needed more light.
The component did what it was supposed to -- it added another bulb to the existing socket. HOWEVER, the chain on the adapter needs to be pulled a couple times before it turns on. It's like as if it was a multi-stage switch that only pulls on after the third pull, and off at the fourth.
I don't really have a problem with this, as it's in my basement, but it is a little something which I thought I'd mention in my review.

CFL Compact Fluorescent 23W PAR38 Outdoor Lights - 4-Pack Review

I love these bulbs. I can't find them anywhere locally only online and at amazon. When I turn these lights on they take about a minute or so to reach full brightness but wow they light the whole yard up - it is so bright it brings the sunlight out in my small yard. I also have these in the front yard that come on from dusk to dawn so about 12 hr. day these lights are on and after 1 year of use they have yet to burn out. These lights definetly put out between 100w-120w of light and use only 23w of electricity. I would definetly buy again & recommend to friends.
