(More customer reviews)On a volunteering event, I was introduced to this saw. I could only borrow it; even though after several uses, I wanted to take it home. I used the Silky Gomtaro for tree trimming at a park. The guy that recommended this particular brand to me, was working in the Tree Trimming department at our company. They have to trim trees year round. I refuse to buy an $8.00 handsaw when someone can purchase one of these....believe me, this will be the last you buy. Even though it's a bit more expensive, it is worth the quality of this saw. Not to mention, when trimming my own trees, I didn't have to work as hard as I would have with the cheap hand saw. The Silky, and I am sure ALL Silky saws cut like this one does. This is a decent size saw for taking down small to medium branches. I have had no issues, and I can attach it to my belt and climb with it without worrying about cutting myself. I recommend this saw to anyone.

Tension Shower Caddy Review

(More customer reviews)After years of struggling with plastic or metal shower caddies that wobble, rust, and fall apart, finally, comes Simplehuman shower caddy. It is solid, does not wobble at all when I put it in the corner - it is designed in such a way that once you set it it will stay. Stainless steel is the only way to go in the bathroom, when it will be by water frequently. I have had mine for several months now and not a spec on it from rust. It is more expensive than regular caddies that you can buy at the local stores but well worth the expense (and if you buy it straight from Simplehuman, shipping is free). It is also guaranteed for 5 years. The gadgets - towel holders, raiser holders, soap holder are great - especially the soap holder that lets all the water escape and leaves the soap nice and clean. I would highly, highly recommend this product. It is pricey but if it gives you peace of mind and lasts for a long time, it comes out to be less expensive than alternatives. Go for it and see for yourself!

(More customer reviews)The Hook Fox can mount to a Silky pole saw in two ways: across the short axis of the pole saw (for all saws except the Hayauchi) or through the long axis (which is required for the Hayauchi). The hook itself is made of two separate, stamped, and plated sections, held together with rivets. The bolt holes that must be used when mounting the hook to the Hayauchi are formed from the two halves, and are simply pinched together by the rivets about 1/2" away from the holes (the three rivets in a row). On mine, this caused, after not what I would consider extraordinary use, the nuts to pull through the holes, spreading the two halves of the hook apart, popping those rivets nearest to the holes. This caused the holes (really two halves of holes, as I've explained) to become deformed, and I can not re-attach the hook in the intended fashion.
It's a silly design flaw, and I'm sure this explains why, even though this hook is supposed to fit all of the Silky pole saws, they make a separate hook for the Hayauchi alone, which is not formed from two pieces. Unfortunately, that other hook does not have the returns on the top side, which are useful for pushing branches or rope.
Silky Saws are great, but this particular design is very disappointing.

(More customer reviews)The saw comes detached from the pole in the same box. I needed to use it as a pole saw so I attached the saw to the pole with the four philips head screws provided. It took me about 10-15 minutes by myself, but it would be much quicker and eaiser if you have a helper.
I filled the chain oiler with oil and pumped it as stated in the directions but it didn't pump any oil out onto the chain. I have a small oil can and just manually put a drop or two on the bar before cutting each branch as desired in the directions. I wanted to use the thing and not wait another week or so for another one.
I trimmed the branches up 17 fir trees in one day to a height of about 12-14 feet high. The pole saw is about 10 feet plus your height is approxamately how high one can reach limbs. I'm an older guy but was able to do this because the pole saw works very fast and most of the branches I was cutting were under 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The motor has adaquate power and did not slow down even on the larger branches I cut.
I would not recommend using the saw separatly from the pole as it lacks safty features of the gas powered ones. So I just shortened the poles length to its shortest setting and cut the downed limbs that way.
I really like this unit and would recommened it to anyone. For the price it is hard to beat.
It may require a long extenion cord to reach your trees but like most electric tools, it requires no preperation before storage and it will be ready when you are for the next use.

(More customer reviews)I used the extension pole with an adapter to hold a Hyde taping knife to scape off popcorn paint and then used it to skim coat drywall compound over 500 sqft of my 17' sloped ceiling. It's a bit on the heavy side which is a good thing because many cheaper extension poles have an unwieldy bend to them when extended beyond the basic 8' length. Note to the colossally stupid amoung us: You may want to remove the taping knife when not in use. While swinging the pole around to place it in storage I managed to cut open my throat. It kind of ruins your day.

(More customer reviews)I spent significant time researching extension pole saws that I could use to prune the many hard and softwood trees on my property without incurring the expense of a professional tree company. I was impressed by the 21' Silky Hayauchi but very skeptical about its ability to cut branches at this distance off the ground. I was also skeptical of my ability at age 66 to physically handle this saw at such an extreme height. I called the Silky Store and spoke to a representative regarding my concerns. They advised that I would not experience any problems as long as I engaged the double locking system on each pole extension and allowed the saw to do the work. They explained that the blade was designed to cut only on the pull stroke and that gravity would provide most of the required cutting force. The effort required on the push stroke would be minimal since no cutting occurs on the up stroke. Based on their advice and the Silky guaranty I purchased the 21' Hayauchi pole saw. I received it in 2 days! I was totally amazed with the incredible performance of this very high quality saw. I easily cut large limbs at least 20' or more off the ground. The guideance received from the Silky Store representative combined with my actual experience with this superior quality tool was very impressive. I intend to purchase additional Silky saws from the Silky Store.

The Hayauchi pole saw has rigid aluminum poles that quickly extend to desired cutting length. The base pole has a comfortable rubber grip. The extension lock with spring loaded buttons at the end of each length. The nearly 16-inch blade not only sports the largest teeth available in a razor tooth design, but has a sharpened base and tip for scoring the branch, to avoid ripping damage to the branch collar. X-Pole Xpert 50mm Chrome Review

This product is worth its weight in gold! Okay, well, maybe not quite that much. But, even as an 'exotic dancer,' I honestly can't imagine being happier with a different product. In fact, it's easy for me to forget that it's a portable pole!
But I'm getting ahead of myself. First of all, prior to purchasing this product, I was deciding between a few different portable poles: the Li'l Mynx, Superpole, and the X-Pole. By the way, if you buy this pole, do not buy the product directly from X-Pole! They are based in the UK, and you'll end up paying a hefty sum for shipping, even though the pole appears to be cheaper on their site. Buy it from Amazon.
As a disclaimer, I have heard good things about all three of these pole brands, but to me, the X-Pole seemed the most...intense. Its advertising really emphasizes that the pole is meant to be swung upon, and seeing as how its price was competitive, I decided to try my luck with the X-Pole. I was primarily looking for a pole that would 1) Hold my weight, even at high velocities, 2) Be completely portable, and 3)Spin like a real stripper pole. I don't look like I weigh much, but at 145 pounds, I was afraid that I'd easily topple anything that wasn't constructed very, very well! I honestly was ready to send back any product that didn't meet my expectations to the T. There is no way I would risk my safety just to have a recreational pole in my apartment.
The pole arrived in good time. The box (at 39 lbs) contains two sporty/stylish bags (to carry the differently-shaped parts for total portability), two longer poles, two bases, two extensions, a tool kit (contains everything you need to put the pole together), a DVD, an instruction manual, and a metal cover for the otherwise-exposed, adjustable top. I was concerned at first because one of the metal bases seemed very unstable. However, as demonstrated by the DVD, it is supposed to be like this before you put the pole together.
I started trying to put it together using the written instructions. And I really shouldn't have bothered. The written instructions are so confusing compared to the visual DVD!! On the DVD, two instructors put the pole together very simply (with no fade-in-fade-out tweens: it really is easy!). Then again, I'm a visual person. But in my experience, the written instructions just complicated what the DVD clearly explained. (Also, the DVD contains step-by-step instructions on some basic pole/floor moves.)
It is very easy to put together (though I'd recommend having someone help you). The learning curve is sharp: I won't need to refer back to the instructions if I decide to move the pole elsewhere: its construction is very simple. Simple, but STURDY! I live in an old apartment, and so had to find a place on the ceiling where it was completely flat. I didn't search for the ceiling beams (though I probably should've); I just searched for a place where it would stand straight. But this pole is SOLID. I can literally grab the pole, shake it as hard as I can, and it still does not budge. With the two extensions, it fairly easily reaches the top of my 9' ceiling, and still does not feel wobbly (some poles get noticeably more wobbly as more extensions are added on).
Of course, you can also choose to put the pole in 'static' mode, but where's the fun in that? This pole is exactly what my pole at work looks and feels like, even though the one at my job isn't portable! The grip, the spin type, and the material, are all authentic. Trust me, I would know. :0)
I really find very few products I'm passionate about, but I cannot find anything wrong with this one. Whether you're buying it as a sexy workout toy, as something to make your significant other's jaw drop, or because you're a stripper who likes to take her work home, this is the pole for you. I LOVE IT.
Note: Poles are not easy to work on at first. It took me about three months at work to stop getting bruises on my inner thighs just from simply "sitting" on the pole and spinning! If you're looking for a pole that has an easier grip (a "stickier" pole), then consider buying the titanium gold pole or finding one made of brass. But stainless steel will definitely make you earn your pole creds!

I only paid a bit over $300 for my pole when I bought it awhile ago. I have no idea why its price has raised so dramatically on Amazon, but I'd advise searching for a better price elsewhere! I hear that X-Pole now has a base in the US, so try buying it from them!!
