Adjustable Floor Lamp with Mica Shade from Destination Lighting Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This lamp arrived quickly well packaged, but cheaply made. The finish was scratched very easily (just adjusting the height of the lamp gave it an unsightly scratch on the pole). Shade is poorly manufactured and mica is poorly fitted into the shade structure.

This pharmacy lamp features a mica shade and a dark bronze finish. The colored shade diffuses glare and creates a warm, amber tone. The swing-arm is moveable for tasks such as reading or office use. Height adjusts from 31 to 49 inches. Takes a 40-watt T10 bulb (not included). Our exclusive! DL # 21353.

Grandrich EZ Reader 27-Watt Fluorescent Floor Lamp #ES-101 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The lamp is really secondary...it's nothing fancy, just pvc pipe really. Although as someone else noted, it's not really ugly, it's just not fancy.
But the bulb REALLY does help. I do a lot of reading and studying, and so far I have not experienced any eye fatigue. I just gave one to my mom as a pre-Christmas gift; she has had some eye problems and reads a lot and does crosswords, and she loved it from the get go.
So my recommendation is that since it's really the bulb you want, buy the cheapest lamp that you can, and I believe that this one is the most reasonably priced.

Pharmacy Floor Lamp W/adjustable Pole Review

(More customer reviews)Cal Lighting BO-117 100W Pharmacy Floor Lamp with Adjustable Pole
This lamp comes in Antique Brass, Brushed Steel, Rust, and Dark Bronze. Ours is brushed steel, as shown in the Customer Images.
Although called a pharmacy lamp, this is my favorite type of lamp for reading while sitting in an easy chair. That's because it's so easy to move the entire lamp and position the relatively small lamp head height and angle precisely as needed. The lamp head stays parallel to the floor, but it can be rotated about 270 degrees, which is far more than required.
The base is sufficiently heavy to keep the lamp from tipping over; the lamp head raises/lowers easily and is secured by a large thumb screw; and it accepts up to a 100w incandescent bulb with a type A (standard) base. A larger incandescent bulb would fit, but then the lamp head would dangerously overheat, since the interior reflector is plastic. However, any compact florescent bulb that will fit can be used, such as a 13w or 23w. The height to the bottom of the lamp head is infinitely adjustable from 43" to 55".
Overall quality is very good, and although shipped in multiple parts, it screws together without any tools in only a few minutes. Good value as well.
Highly recommended.
