you wall color then you will be feeling for them in the dark. I think they need to have some sort of brighter find light on them.
Or else you will watch the color of your paint around the switch slow get covered with dirty hands.

(More customer reviews)I installed new ceiling fans and lights in our bedrooms, and to make everything Title 24 compliant (I'm in California) wired the lights to occupancy sensors. In the master bedroom I had to move the occupancy sensor to another wall so the sensor could actually "see" the interior of the room. I placed this switch (the VZ0SR-1LZ) into the original junction box by the door and wired it as a remote switch for the occupancy sensor. The setup works well.
Construction seems to be reasonably solid. It should last a while if not abused. The switch looks like any Decora switch, but has a green LED underneath, which makes it a little easier to find in the dark. However, from some vantage points the LED is obscured by the switch part that sticks out.
Some things to be aware of: while this looks like a regular switch, it's not. This is a pushbutton. You push the bottom (the part that sticks out) to toggle the circuit on and off. This isn't a problem as far as I'm concerned, but if you have kids or careless household members that like to whack regular Decora switches when turning them on or off, they could break this because they don't realize it's not a regular switch.
Also, remember that this is a *remote*, and will not operate as a switch by itself. In order to use this you need to have a compatible switch wired to it.

(More customer reviews)I bought this so that I could control the outdoor light on our unattached storage room from inside the house. I simply had to replace the existing light switch in the storage room with the remote controlled one (receiver), and I mounted the battery operated transmitter switch in the house near the back door.
At first I had a little trouble with getting the transmitter to turn on the light. On the receiver there's a little wire that acts as an antenna. This needs to be placed so that it dangles down the inside of the wall, and mine had become bunched up. The switch worked great after adjusting the antenna.
The range is about 50 feet, and it dimishes somewhat for each wall or metal door that the signal may have to pass through. Before purchasing this product, I would recommend making a rough measurement between the switch you want to control and the place where you want to mount the remote. If it's around or under 50 feet, this switch should work great for you!

(More customer reviews)Ive been using x10 for remote exterior lighting for a while. I replaced that with this and it is so much more reliable. This is NOT Homelink compatible like (v1) MRF- devices. Also Amazon sells the (v1) MRF- remote which is not compatible with this. Make sure you get an MRF2- series remote.

(More customer reviews)I have a room with no overhead lighting and no way for me to wire one.
The room is on the first floor of my house and has two bedrooms overhead.
I plugged this little device into an outlet and plugged a lamp into the device.
I mounted the switch to a wall by the door and put in the batteries.
Works Great. Flip the switch, light goes on. Flip it again, light goes off.
I would have given five stars but... two issues.
1) Switch only comes in one style. No options for other types of switches.
2) For some odd reason the light goes on by itself once in a while. Not a huge deal but not very energy efficient. Perhaps the radio transmitter or receiver responds to some nearby interference. But I have no baby monitor or garage door opener.
