Galvanized steel enclosure. Single phase, 3 wire, insulated/bondable split neutral, 20 (1") spaces, 20 poles, 120/240 volt.Main breaker type BR at 10,000 AIR. Ground bar kit (necessary for sub-feeding) sold separately. Tin-plated aluminum bus bar. Twinneutral with non-removable cross bus connecting them. When bonded, unused neutral connections may be used for equipment ground protectors in service entrance application. #4 - 1/0 wire range. Electrostatic powder coat, baked urethane painted. Rotate 180 degrees for bottom feed; orientation of main breaker handle consistent with NEC 240-81 requirements because it operates horizontally. U.L. Listed file E52977.

(More customer reviews)The breaker is working OK but came missing one of the large set screws for the feeder line. It was a larger size than the one on the old breaker - so that was no solution. Amazon sold this and of course they have no replacement screws. The Amazon rep. suggested to return it and receive a replacement - the only solution suggested at first - but would take 4-6 weeks??? After further conversation they agreed to send me the Connecticut Electric contact info. Considering the time delay and hassle factor I went to the local hardware store- but the threads were slightly different than any screws available. They finally tapped (actually cleaned up) new set of threads and provided the needed screw, all for 40 cents. Then I learned they sold the same 50 AMP breaker item for a few dollars less than the one I bought on line. Guess where I'm going to purchase the next one.

Mine came they're used they junk they don't switch right and they have grease all over them. WHAT GIVES. It doesn't say used in the description anywhere. If I wanted used I would of went to Ebay which is clearly what I should of done in the first place. Shame on you Amazon for shipping these out. Expect a nice return from me in a few days.

(More customer reviews)The product was as described. The packaging of the breakers was poor! The breakers were loose in the box, tumbling all around, which concerns me as to whether the "guts" of the breakers are ok! The box had the loose breakers in it along with 2 or 3 of those inflateable "air bags" used to keep the items from moving all around! However, since the circuit breakers have "sharp protrusions" on them, the movement of the parts punctured all of the bags inside the box allowing the tumbling. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the purchase.

This item is an excellent replacement and works fine with my 3 ton central air conditioner. It is very easy to install.
