(More customer reviews)Note - due to the shape of the housing of these switches, you can't put two of them side by side in a ddouble gang box. I found this out the hard way. You have to use a three-gang box and leave a space in between (if you can find such a switch plate, I couldn't), or use two single-gang boxes side by side.

(More customer reviews)We have a bunch of these around the house, after a recent remodel. While they're attractive and generally innocuous, they routinely burn out at the same time as whatever light they're connected to. Apparently the voltage spike that sometimes accompanies the "flash" of a light burning out fries the dimmer's electronics. So instead of replacing a $1 screw in bulb, I get to replace the $30 dimmer, with all the fun that entails (circuit breaker, wired connections, etc.). The one in our kitchen just burned out for about the 5th time.

(More customer reviews)This product does not come with instructions. Technically it does, but instead of telling you how to install it, the instructions merely remind you of what the product does.
The product number (5634) isn't even listed on the Leviton site and their customer service is far from 24/7 so no help is available unless you sit home all day. Unless you are a trained electrician, find a different product.

(More customer reviews)The plastic rocker on mine failed, though the underlying electrical component was fine. I tried to contact Lutron tech support via their Web form, but the site threw an error after I submitted my message. I then called their 24-hour phone support line. I waited on hold for about an hour, then their system hung up on me. I called back and tried a slightly different menu option and got a human. He promised to mail me out a couple of replacement "bezels" (the switch and slider part) and instructions for replacing one. He ended up sending me return instructions for the entire switch (wire nutted into the house and not trivial to remove).
An email to an alternative contact on the Lutron Web site achieved a response from a woman who said that she could send me replacement bezels. She did and they arrived about a week later. So the company is definitely trying to support their product. They probably should have a simple gmail address rather than rely on their Web programmers.
