(More customer reviews)The description in the title is wrong! This product is not sound activated, only motion activated. I bought it for the sound activation, as I need to bridge a larger distance than the meager 20ft reach of the motion sensor. I installed it anyway, and the other disappointment was that it doesn't work well with my energy saving fluorescent lights. The light turns ON fine when activated, but in automatic activation mode the light never turns OFF completely. When the timer switches to "OFF", the fluorescent light keeps flickering. The regular shipping charge of more than $7 (half the item's price!) was also kind of hefty, considering the small size of the item. On the plus side (I have to justify giving a star), the installation instructions are clear enough that even I, as a novice, was able to install it as a 3-way switch. Too bad it's not equipped to do what is advertised, and it does a lousy job at what it's equipped to do.

(More customer reviews)I was thrilled to find the Tuggy T Post Puller at Northern Tools and tried it as soon as it arrived. What a disapointment. It would not budge any of my posts. Considering another rave review, I must assume the other reviewer (1) had his posts sunk 6" or less, (2) had a different soil type, or (3) is the inventor of the Tuggy. To give benefit of doubt, I will assume it is the soil type. We have very gumbo-clay soil here and perhaps it works like a dream in sandy soil. Anyway, don't get too excited until you try it.

It works ok but after a few short minutes of use i needed to 'massage' the bristles to get them back in shaped. Even then they would just flatten again. Especially at the end. Stick a longer handle on the end and it would work better as a toilet brush.

I called the merchant and explained the situation and the fact that I have no heat or air conditioning until the breaker is replaced. I was assured that a replacement would be sent right away and a FedEx return tag would be emailed to me to return the defective unit. The return tag was received, I boxed up the defective merchandise and sent it out, anxiously awaiting the replacement. Approximately one week later I received a notice that my charge card had been credited for the return. I never did receive the replacement and had to purchase one from another vendor.

It also unseated the trim of one of our indoor recessed lights and separately rotated the fixture of an outdoor spotlight. Just seems to be no replacement for a tall ladder and a hand.

The base pins were not making good contact with the light stem. Boater's World had gone out of business, so I contacted the manufacturer (Innovative Lighting) via e mail. I got no response, so I attempted repairs myself. I was not able to repair it, so I replaced it with a less expensive Attwood.

(More customer reviews)I have purchased this lamp to replace an older unit. At first it looked OK, with a couple of glass panes loose inside the package. As I finish installing the main body I noticed a crack in the top cover. Amazon promptly sent a replacement (a refurbished unit, filled with newspapers inside the box), but this one was also cracked, in the main body this time. The cast aluminum is really of the worst kind, even if you're lucky to get a good lamp at first, expect it to crack during winter due to thermal contraction and expansion.

It is heavy duty, stable, easy to use, and fills the void between regular step ladders and extension ladders. When you need a short extension ladder inside a building this does the job. It is easily portable and feels very secure in both step ladder mode and extension mode. It is not as light as a 7' fiberglass step ladder but it is a lot more stable than most fiberglass ladders. It comes in very handy!

(More customer reviews)I put this switch into a 1976 Fender Strat. It fit perfectly even though the switch is considerably wider than the original. Wired it up and it works flawlessly. Action is a bit stiff, but hasn't had much use yet.
This is a 4-pole 5-throw (position) switch that can access nearly all of the wiring positions possible on your guitar. Here are two wiring examples. For two humbuckers, connect lead #1 to hot, lead #4 to ground then leads #2 and #3 to the poles (repeat for the other pickup). This provides a simple way of getting any in-phase combination of humbucking or parallel from all four coils. For three single coils, wire lead #1 of the neck pickup to hot and lead #2 of the bridge pickup to ground. Connect the other four wires to the poles of this switch and get nearly any combination of parallel and humbucking you desire.

Ordered two gates and had to disassemble chain link mesh in order to make two parts. Appears to be decent quality and it was pretty easy to put together (good instructions) but overall disappointed in delivery and communications.

(More customer reviews)Bought one of these 2 years ago for $400. Loved it until the finish started peeling off in large chunks this spring on every part except one address plaque.
I called Whitehall to explain the problem. Told me mailbox had a lifetime warranty on it. (Great! I thought)
They asked me to send my proof of purchase and photo's.
I did that and waited for their reply. A week later I e mailed them because I had not heard back from them. They e mailed me back saying they apologize for the condition of my mailbox but they determined the damage had been caused by road salt so they could not help me other than to replace the main box, because on that part only, it was a manufacturing problem and then offer me a 50% discount on replacement parts. So for about $200 I would be back in business. What a great deal, huh!?
Now the kicker.
I live in a subdivision on a tributary street. The main through street gets plowed and salted. The tributary streets do not get plowed most time and they do not get any salt whatsoever. I do not salt my driveway and I do not live by the ocean. So where did the salt come from?
And, what about the majority of people "who do" live on streets that get salted?
If my finish came off in 2 years without salt how soon for those who do live on salted streets?
With all the automotive finishes out there that last for many years Whitehall is not taking advantage of them. They have a finish problem and they are passing it off on the customer. It appears to be the preparation and priming of the aluminum parts.
Bottom line.
Whitehall products look great for a while and then the paint comes off in large chunks. So if you don't mind an unsightly box in 2 years or if you want to lay out a lot more cash for replacement parts Whitehall is the product for you.
A mailbox costing this much should keep it's finish for many years and not be a costly maintenance issue salt or no salt.
I would be interested in hearing from other customers who have had this same issue.

When I use a chainsaw, invariably my chain is pinched and pops off when cutting down a big bush because of the way the branches are tangles amongst themselves. Therefore, I needed something that let me fell a big honeysuckle with ease, and this saw does that. This saw is amazingly effective in moving through the fibers of any wood. It may take some patience and practice to get the cut started, but then soon fully cuts through the wood and down comes the bush.
I really recommend this product for anyone that wants to limb, fell, or prune any wood...especially honeysuckle.
